A clean home is one that doesn’t just look great but also feels inviting and comfortable to be in. However, when you have pets, kids, and partners living with you, keeping it clean can be a downright challenge.

The good news is that you can keep your space tidy if you know the right tips and tricks. By incorporating the right habits into your daily routine you can maintain a clean and organized living space practically effortlessly.

To help, here are some practical and useful tips for keeping your house clean.

Make a Cleaning Schedule

Creating a cleaning schedule is a great way to make sure that you don’t forget anything important. From cleaning your floors to organizing your shelves to scrubbing out your bathtub, make a list of everything that you need to do to keep your house clean.

Rotate these on a schedule and do a little bit each day. If you can manage to complete a few tasks every day rather than leaving it to the last minute and spending hours cleaning all in one day, then you’ll find it feels like much less work.

If you have other family members in your house, then ask them to get involved. The more everyone does their part, the cleaner your house will stay long term and the less pressure will be on you alone.

Declutter

Clutter can make even the cleanest of homes feel downright chaotic. Regularly go through all of your belongings and decide what needs to stay on surfaces and shelves and what can be put away. Focus on one area of your house at a time to make this project feel much less overwhelming.

Cleaning experts recommend applying the “one in one out” rule whenever you buy something new. In other words, if you bring a new item home, this means you need to get rid of another.  This helps prevent clutter from piling up in your house and creating disarray.

Clean as You Go

One of the biggest reasons why people’s houses get so messy is because they let things go on for too long.  If you let your messes pile up, then it will seem like an unmanageable task that you will procrastinate taking care of. However, if you can manage to clean as you go, from washing dishes immediately to folding laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer, then it will feel like much less of a monumental task.

In other words, establish habits that involve cleaning up right away rather than letting things pile up to keep your home consistently clean and organized.  This goes for everyone in your house since the more everyone can do their part, the more your efforts will collectively pay off.
